Bsck to the Vault

My last post was a bummer.  I need to bring back some positive vibes here.  I remember this happy, poppy song from the wall of cd’s.  Very cool band.

Buzzcocks – Everybody’s Happy Nowadays

  1. Kinda reminds me of the B52's “Rock Lobster”.

You're right ….. it is a happy / poppy song. It so reminds me of the bands of the 70's & 80's – a reflection of the “good old days”, especially at the end of the Vietnam War:

We worked. We got paid. We played.
    Life was good.
    I was young.
I was active and in no pain.
I rode my bike, and I flew my plane.

    You ARE young.
    Active and in no pain.
Go ride your “bike”. Go fly your “plane”.

I did. To be honest, I don't regret it.
Do it while you're young, so you won't forget it.
Cuz when you grow old, all those songs that you sung,
Will be those songs that will keep you “forever young”.

    …………….. “FOGGY” <3

  2. Hello David
Music's like that, isn't it? Able to reflect just about any mood or situation, good, bad and indifferent. The Buzzcocks were never one of my favourite British punk/post-punk bands, but they did make some memorable songs – Ever Fallen in Love is probably my favourite, not least because the lyrics sum up quite a bit of my emotional life – and usually managed to sound upbeat while doing it. Nice counterpoint to the previous post.

    Love & best wishes
    Sammy B

  3. This is probably the best punk song I've heard. Definitely brighter than the last post, but you know what, that's OK…you're allowed to be down sometimes, and letting the music reflect that is probably more therapeutic than you think.

    Peace <3
